The incoming administration wants to cut subsidies for public school breakfast and lunch programs, besides diverting tax dollars to private schools. These programs benefit children and the food supply chain workers, which includes farmers and all the folks that work the warehouses and transportation systems.

These federal dollars are incredible investments into local economies that get spent quickly. It's difficult for me to understand how people don't understand that money in circulation in our country is better than money that is doing nothing in offshore accounts.

They're told to think otherwise. They believe that they're voting for themselves. They don't want think outside their nano-boxes.

And the same people who want to take the food out of the mouths of hungry children scream the loudest about killing embryos which they call babies.

When I worked as a cashier I was surprised at how many seniors used food stamps. Where I live rent is up, home insurance is way up, car insurance is up, and yes groceries cost more. Also I live where a lot of people come to retire, those people typically vote Republican, will they still vote that way or will they still find a way to blame democrats?

Make all members of Congress live on SNAP for minimum 1 month, no exceptions. See how they like it. And no meals from lobbiests!

Make it three to six months because one month doesn't do the experience justice.

Frankly, I only get $23/month. Don’t think I’ll miss it that much. Do I need more than that? Of course, but the formula they use in Illinois for computing what you get is arcane and confusing.

Have you utilized all the available income deductions?

I don’t make enough to pay taxes anymore so I don’t. My income is a matter of public record. There are no deductions and they don’t use my income tax return for their computations. Mainly just income, minus rent with deductions for electric. I don’t pay for anything else.

Wow, I send virtual well being and strength to you and your family. My mother worked with Special Ed kids for 45 years. Very few people realize the number one thing the Department of Education does is money to states for Special needs education. This is because back in the 1970's and 1980's when these programs started, most state education budgets couldn't handle the extra costs for wheel chair ramps, lower water fountains, bathroom accommodations for handicapped, even door knobs and light switches had to be replaced.

I spoke with her about this exact topic yesterday and she noted "I hope these people know to expect parents of special needs children to be on their phones, at their doorsteps and using lawyers to obtain services for their children.

Eliminate the Dept of Education and you wind up with hungry school kids, no place for special needs kids in public schools, and no equality of women's sports. Sort of sounds like a fever dream for these people does it not? What I don't get is the pure hatred and evil this lack of consideration for other human beings brings out in so many Americans?
